We decided to take a walk at Sensiba Wildlife Area- a 570 acre "coastal" wetland preserve near the outlet of the Suamico River owned and managed by the Department of Natural Resources. Sensiba is the flagship wildlife management area on the West Shore of Green Bay with some nice waterfowl impoundments (a system to capture water from the bay and hold it to create good wildlife habitat in the wetlands) and an accessible crushed gravel walking trail that goes around the wetland and along the Bay for about 2.5 miles out and back. We saw too many birds to list (including my favorite sandhill cranes), and lots of pickerel frogs jumping around on the path. Sensiba gets a lot of management attention, so there is very little Phragmites there. Teddy had a great time enjoying all the new sights and smells, and was pretty tired after a fun outdoor adventure!

In other news, Teddy graduated from his Beginning Manners class last week. He is still going to daycare on Tuesdays to play while I am working- he loves it! Our neighbor has a pug named Daisy who is also a favorite playmate when we catch her outside.
